HP Online Desktop Diagnostic Memory Test

HP On-Line Diagnostic - Model HP Compaq dc5100 SFF Memory

This is one of the things that I prefer and like that HP does that at least recently I've not seen from Dell. The fact that I could run a memory test, and not just a status test, while a computer was still in Windows XP.

With Dell, I had to take the system off-line and then run a deep memory scan. With HP's online diagnostics memory test, I was able to keep the desktop system online.

This particualr desktop however, had no memory errors. the computer was acting very erratic. It would freeze, applications would hang, and the time of these accurances was random almost like a memory problem but without blue screens or hard stop errors. The applications and computer would just hang, requiring a hard reboot. This is also a symtom of a tempurature problem. I found this nice little program very handy for checking on the system fans and the tempurature of the desktop.

A nice little freeware product that's a nice little addition to the toolbox is called SpeedFan. Besides the memory test, I installed and ran SpeedFan and it really helped with the problem. It showed the sensores installed on the motherboard and their individual RPM speeds. It also showed the current temperatures of the sensors and not surprisingly, there was an image of flames on one of them and another fan with 0 RPM - it was not spinning at all.

Speedfan works great. I used it on several desktop computer PC systems. While trying to support the desktop, the symptoms included those that seemed like the computer weas running hot. I ha5 to try and prove this. The computer did't have the computer manfacturer's support software they may have been able to tell me whether or not the problem on this desktop can tell me ifthe computer

The best diagnostic tests I believe are the diagnostics built onto the firware or bios of the motherboards. I have used these before and they are accurate and thurough. Using online tools for memory diagnostics work well but not as well as said motherboard chip based tools. The same I feel goes for other tools for finding problems such as disk drive tools. Online support tools for diagnosing and repairing drives work well but the built-in or offline drive test tools are more through too. When providing remote support to desktops or servers there is the need to run online diagnostic tools. Tools such as online memory and drive test are required because access to the physical computer is not available. Online remote support software gives us the remote desktop control needed to access the local files system and all other internal components. When using remote support software the online connection has to be maintained. Since remote support software requires a constant online connection, utilizing offline tools are not the primary option. Online support tolls such as memory and disk diagnostics are run without a reboot. The diagnostic tools and their components are ddownloaded from the web and run in the current user context and logged in account. Local administrator access is often needed as well as online access to the web. There is the option to run tools upon reboot even when initiated with remote support software through online remote control. 4RemoteSupport remote support software will allow full remote computer contr . The technical support agent will have full remote computer control and desktop remote access. This will permit full access to the local system and hardware components. 4RemoteSupport remote support software will allow the downloading of diagnostic tools. Full remote computer control and online access to web sites providing the tools needed to diagnose and in some cases repair the computer desktop problems is achieved with 4RemoteSupporf online remote support software. Remote access is not limited to the local system once a remote desktop session connection is made, access to all other systems from the remote computer is available.

I have used various programs for diagnosing memory and hard drive problems. The application I've used were both online web based and also installed applications and also diagnostic application that run from a boot-up CD or DVD. I have even used these diagnostics applications while in person with physical access and via remote support software with online remote access like 4RemoteSupport. 4RemoteSupport web based desktop support software gives me the access to the remote computer over the web. I have full remote control access and pro ide desktop sceen-sharing remote control support.

Online support software I find to be the fastest way to diagnose or look for potential causes to problems while repairing a computer. A benefit to using online diagnostic tools for computer desktop repair online is that there usually not a requirement to install the application. Although many online applications for helping resolve computer desktop PC problems need a browser add-on installed. This add-ons are after ActiveX components ts. My favorite online tool to use for online computer desktop PC support online is online antivirus and malware scanners.

Web based support tools are indeed very useful. I have any her the recent years stopped storing many computer support diagnostic tools on file shares. I don't even store them as much locally or on USB drive to carry with. The reason for this is because online tools are so much readily available. Many computer desktop PC support tools can be directly from a web site or are a quick download. So storing them on a share of ftp access online has become more of a burden. Furthermore the tools are often updated and any downloads of online support tools become outdated rather quickly. Web based access to tools for computer support online enables a quicker solution than making them available through local drives, portable drives, etc.. I do still use online services for accessing some larger desktop support tools.

Online support tools like software that helps analyze memory or disk problems on computers, desktop, PC and server are very common. There are many sites however that say they have a tools for diagnosing but some of the sites are just loaded with ads and pay per click links. These are annoying. I have been using recently as an online tool for computer support ESET's online scanner. ESET online scanner is a web based tool that for me has found problems on computers that even installed AV software has missed. I won;t mention what brand of anti-virus was on the systems that did not detect the malware or Trojan based software. i think you have probably experienced the same circumstances. Web based support software for computer desktop PC support is useful because is is available fro ma web site on the web. transferring tools and utilities is not required as much any more for finding computer problems and for repair. It does no mean however the method of getting support tools to the desktop is antiquated or outdated, it just means there are more options available. Using the method of support also depends on the technical support agent, person or organization. They may have a policy or prefer doing things in a specific order and all use a set list of online and install-able computer software tools. Much of the ability to work on line also incorporates remote access. Remote access of a system is online support software too. Performing repair diagnostics is part of computer remote support. Computer remote support over the web involves creating s remote access session wit he a remote computer. The remote computer is remotely access and controlled. This can be done locally with Microsoft RDP remote desktop connection software for example. 4RemoteSupport computer remote support over the web application is software for computer remote control through the web. Computer remote support over the web is part of the process of diagnosing and repairing a computer desktop PC. 4RemoteSupport computer remote support over the web enables both remote desktop access and remote PC control through the web. Desktop remote support over the web gives technical support agents and support teams desktop screen-sharing capabilities. Microsoft RDP permits remote control but the remote user and the technical support agent do not share the desktop session. It is PC remote support over the web but has that particular limitation. On the positive side the protocol is very fast and efficient. Desktop remote support over the web can have slowness or screen-drag for any number of reasons. There may be a poor connection to the ISP or the local network may be having routing or network switching issues. Shared connections are known to be slow at times of high usage.

Computer support software includes desktop screen-sharing remote PC control capabilities. Computer support through the web accelerates diagnosing and troubleshooting desktop computer problems online. We use remote control console access desktop and server support. We leverage technologies such as HP iLO and Dell DRAC whenever possible is as required. HPiLO and Dell DRACtechnologies give remote console access to servers but not directly over the web. Once we access another server or desktop computer PC we then can use a browser to connect to servers. ILO and Dell DRAC gives us remote control of the server console. We need only access a computer on the same network or routed network with remote control through the web.

I've not used offline memory tools in a while. Most tools I use for computer support and repair have been web based online support tools. ESET scanner is one of the tools I use often. Just yesterday on a clients computer I ran EST to check for malicious software on an office computer desktop PC. The computer was running abnormally slow. The unusual part is that it would run at normal speed then hit these very slow paused like freezing states. Network connectivity was very slow too but it would come and go. I ran EST online scanner as part of general practice. It turns out that there was no malicious code on the computer. The pauses still persisted and then I decided to check for file system errors. I have see in the past where file system errors would cause the intermittent freezing or long pauses to accomplish even the simplest of tasks. It turns out that after running Microsoft chkdsk, file system errors were found. There were about 30 of them. I scheduled a chkdsk of the C drive to run and asked the user to restart the computer at the end of the day to initiate the offline file system repair.
This particular user was a little computer savvy and understood what i was trying to do and accomplish. The user also recognized the the errors I was trying to fix so the user agreed tor reboot so the file system can can as scheduled and repair the computer desktop hard drive file system errors.
This process was done while on site at this particular customer's office. Normally I would use online PC computer remote support software and would have performed the steps remotely through remote access of the desktop through the web. I use 4RemoteSupport online computer remote support software for remote PC control through the web. 4RemoteSupport online desktop support software would have permitted the running of online support software to check for malicious software and also would have permitted me to check for filer system and disk errors. Microsoft Chkdsk utility can run online but cannot correct the problems because the disk is mounted and in use by the windows operating system. So I would have had to set the disk check to run on reboot regardless of being on site or connected over the Internet with 4RemoteSupport online PC remote control software. the reason for being onsite and not accessing the system and systems remotely is because the initial problem was network connections. I had to swap out a network switch at this office as computers that were connected to the switch were not getting Internet online access or it was intermittent access. 4RemoteSupport online computer remote support software provides remote access and desktop screen sharing remote desktop control through the Internet and has a auto-reconnect feature. The auto-reconnect feature works great. it specifically works well when the network connection to the remote computer has intermittent issues or is not the most reliable in terms of quality or speed. The length of time however that the computers in he office were disconnecting and no longer online to the internet was very large. I feel certain 4RemoteSupport online computer remote support software would have reconnected and restored the remote session with the desktops, the problem was easier to work out onsite. Also because the switch had to be replaced as mentioned.

Web based software for desktop support have made my technical support team's job easier. We are able to remotely control computers and servers over the web. Full PC remote control access gives us the ability to accomplish more trouble-shooting and computer repais. Online desktop support software continues to help us grow our managed services business. We use seval products of online remote support software.each online remote support software solution has its strong points. Ea h feature we find adds a crucial components to successfully completing online computer desktop PC repair. We are able to access our clients ts computer through the web. Once we connect with a live remote control session over the web with our online remote support software, we can use other online support software assets. Other software includes online scanners for malicious software and root kits, online file transfer and support tools like memory scanners. All of these add up to an full line of tools and utilities for remote support through the web. With online remote support software, the process of adding agents and installing software for PC remote controlled can be bypassed. Often however using online remote support software gives us the initial remote desktop control access to add addition remote access tools.

I have use eset online scanner many times. It is not the fastest but it is thorough. It has cleaned many threats ffrom client computers that have past the installed AV solutions such as symantec endpoint. Comparing symantec endpoint to eset online scanner , I find that eset's online scanner works much better than installed endpoint from symantec. It finds and cleans more threats online than symantec installed endpoint protection. Also, when providing support to client computers remotely online, it's very advantageous to just connect to a web site to get the threat cleaning support - just start the detection and cleaning process online. Don;t have to go through the extra process of installing and removing.

I've been using ESET online desktop scanner for computer virus xlchecks. What I like about this online support toll is that the client can have antivirus security software already installed and I could run this online scanner from a web page without installation. Many times I come across computer that have antivirus software installed and yet a bad price of code, malware, has still infected a computer. Often, this occurs without the user knowing. They just see their computer get slower and slower. Some bad code just USS the online presence to work ad itself and also to search for other vulnerable systems. With some of these bad apps there's no indication. Unlike programs like cryptosystem all or cryptolocker. I am able to remotely access the Clint's computer desktop or server online. I have remote control of it through the internet. Once on the computer I go online to start the online scan.
This is all done with remote control software remotely through the web.

Software for PC support over the web fundamental requirement is remote control. Online support tolls such as eset online scanner or other scanner tools like memory diagnostic tests or disk drive checkers are useful computer of support tools. Software for of support over the web comes in many forms. They can be installable tools that can be removed at a later time and have more access and. Control than their web based counterparts through the web. Online computer and PC support tools can be delivered and accessible through the web as in the case of numerous remote support software with remote control support systems.
